About Amy

Amy came to yoga as young mother.

A kind friend, seeing her health decline took her to a yoga class.  At that first savasana, she knew that yoga was what she needed.  Through practice, diet and lifestyle changes, she transformed her health and her life.  After practicing for 10 years she bravely enrolled in her first yoga teacher training at The White Lotus Foundation with Tracey Rich and Ganga White in Santa Barbara, California. A year later she completed a 5oo hour training with Erika Faith-Calig of Cloud Nine Yoga.

She began teaching on a volunteer basis at her church and a senior living center.  Her teaching practice began to grow and she soon felt she needed more training in the field of Vinyasa Flow.

Her husband lost his job in 2012,  In order to help support the family she began to take on more classes as well as more training.  She trained with Shiva Rea for three years in the Prana Flow system and with Demetri Velisarius in Prana Danda Yoga.  She also returned to college to complete the esteemed Pilates/Dance Conditioning program at Orange Coast College, California.

She continues to learn what she can through daily study and practice.

Her background in science as a Biology Major  and the performing arts, having eventually graduated with a B.A. in Theater Arts, gives her classes a creative flair with the grounding of western scientific thought.  Her deep regard for the growth of the whole self and appreciation for spiritual development make her classes meaningful at all levels.

In the spring of 2018 Amy was honored to join the teaching staff at California State University, Kinesiology Department as a professor, teaching Beginning Hatha Yoga.

Amy is committed to the divine expression of self through the practices of yoga arts.
